Hobie Wave 4:1 Main Sheet System
The Murrays Hobie low profile 4:1 main sheet system for the Hobie Wave. By Adding a fairlead to the back side of the cleat on the base block we have made a low profile main sheet system that no longer needs a becket on the base block. We have also replaced the upper fiddle block with a double block which makes it even more compact. The result is a lightweight, low profile and very strong, made with 40mm Harken Carbo AirBlocks. Carbo Airblocks have an enormous working range, with a higher working load than standard blocks, and they are lighter in weight!
Carbo blocks have 2 modes, free and ratcheting. The ratcheting mode will help with loads on the line and makes the line much easier to hold under tension. The free mode is ideal for light wind sailing and the ratcheting mode is ideal for higher winds when you would like a little assistance with the load on the line.
Line is not included.
NOTE: The Hobie Waves uses 35′ of 5/16 or 8mm line.
This performance main sheet system utilizes 40mm blocks that have a maximum line diameter of 1/4″ line. 8mm SSR or other hollow braid may run through, but there will be some friction. 7mm line or 1/4″ is the recommended line size.
