This Carbo AirBlock® has an enormous working range, with a higher working load than a standard block, even though it is lighter in weight. The Carbo Ratchet block allows sailors to hand-hold loaded lines and offers balance between holding power and controlled easing. The base block has an on-off ratchet and will roll freely in both directions when disengaged, such as in light air. Engage the ratchet in heavy air when you need the mechanical advantage of the ratchet. The 57mm ratchet sheave offers 10:1 holding power, making it easier to handhold in heavy air. Use this 5-sheave Carbo block with cam with #56-9955 top block for a 10:1 mainsheet system.
