SUGGESTED SAILING ATTIRE BY THE CONDITIONS
Warm Water, light to moderate winds (5-10mph)
Basic: Shorty wetsuit or neoprene shorts, T-shirt, boots or slippers, polarized sunglasses.
Optional: Thin long john, UV shirt or rash guard, short-finger or "solar" gloves, hat for sun protection.
Safety: PFD, water.
All-Around Conditions, moderately warm and moderate wind conditions (10-15mph)
Basic: Long John with good knee protection and front zip with double pull, breeze breaker top, sailing boots, secure/floating polarized sunglasses.
Optional: Rash guard, thermal or 1mm neoprene top, knee pads, 3 or 5 full-finger gloves, amphibious goggles.
Safety: PFD, water, compression jersey, safety knife, helmet.
Cool and Windy Conditions (Wind chill @ 15-20+mph makes keeping warm important)
Basic: Full wetsuit or long John with neoprene long-sleeve top, dry top, 4mm boots, 3 or 5 full finger gloves, secure/floating sunglasses.
Optional: Thermal underwear and under socks or dry socks, knee pads, amphibious goggles.
Safety: PFD, water, food, compression jersey, safety knife, mirror, strobe light, helmet.
COLD and Windy Conditions
Basic: Dry suit with thermal underwear, 4mm boots, neoprene cap, 3 or 5 full-finger gloves.
Optional: Under layer thermals, Bunny Suit, wool or fleece under socks, dry gloves, amphibious goggles.
Safety: PFD, water, food, helmet with ear coverage, safety knife, mirror, strobe light, radio and/or personal rescue beacon.
