Which model Gath helmet is best for water rescue services?
When selecting a Gath helmet model, most rescue services give the edge to the GEDI with Full Face Shield (#52-15 plus #52-06) over the Retractable Visor (RV) model.
Gedi Advantages
• The Gedi fit system is superior, as both size and shape can be custom tuned.
• The level of protection offered may be superior, at least to parts of the head covered by the shell, as liner is thicker and shell is doubled over top of head for a "roll-bar" effect.
• Removable Gedi ear protectors can be modified at the factory for inclusion of waterproof speakers. RV's do not accommodate waterproof speakers.
• Murrays holds more stock for just-in-time delivery.
Gath RV Advantages
• Full face visors may provide superior face protection versus the Gedi Shield. The RV is certainly more "solid" when in down position.
• Murrays would be pleased to increase stocks of RV's based on demand.
